Abstract

Nota critica su ”Mitologia delle scienze sociali", raccolta di saggi (di respiro e livello assai disuguale) di Caillé. Meriti: utilizza materiale antropologico per smontare l’assioma della scarsità ontologica anziché socialmente definita. Batte in breccia il mito del mercato in Braudel e altri, il razionalismo vuoto e astratto di Lévi Strauss. Demeriti: non utilizza a dovere (pur conoscendola) la coppia concettuale ‘economia formale/sostanziale’ di Polanyi, che avrebbe fornito il criterio unificante di tutte le sue critiche; non percepisce che la fallacia razionalista/ apriorista/economicista trova terreno più favorevole nella tradizionale culturale francese che altrove, e la attribuisce a tutte le scienze sociali. Crede che il suo successo sia motivato da seduzioni prescrittive, senza vedere il bisogno psicologico di certezza che è alla radice di tutto.
