Tradizione agostiniana e tradizione gesuata

Abstract

Contributo destinato a rendere ragione della tipologia della guida d'anime operata dai frati dell'Ordine degli Agostiniani e dai frati gesuati tra XIV e XV secolo. Il contributo è inserito all'interno di un volume collectaneo incentrato sul fenomeno della direzione spirituale, che a sua volta costituisce un aspetto fondamentale della storia del cristianesimo in epoca medievale. "Il volume propone un'esplorazione nelle fonti alla ricerca di nuovi luoghi e nuovi protagonisti: la realtà monastica, poi gli ordini mendicanti, come pure le confraternite laiche, gli spazi pubblici e quelli domestici. Il medioevo si presenta come l'epoca nella quale, più che in ogni altra, la varietà di declinazioni del fenomeno permette di individuare dislivelli sociali e culturali, differenze di status (monaci, chierici, laici e, all'interno del laicato, di condizione sociale) e di genere (uomini e donne) e di cogliere la dialettica fra persistenze e innovazioni".
