More than from the aristotelian and thomistic tradition, Dante’s thought, according to the Author, was influenced from neoplatonic tradition. The “filosofia d’amore” inspiring the Divina Commedia and crossing both Vita nuova and Convivio reveals an evident neoplatonic character, because Dante identifies, exactly like Plato in his Banquet, philosophy and love. The “canti” 24, 25 and 26 of Paradise, to wich in this article is dedicated a particular attention, offer the clearest evidence of this thesis. Anyway the mystical ending of the Commedia will result incomprehensible outside of a tradition whose main features are surely neoplatonic and not aristotelian.
