Abstract

Dopo una breve introduzione alle tradizioni agiografiche etiopiche, il contributo descrive le caratteristiche testuali e materiali del manoscritto finemente illustrato Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS AETH. D. 23, che contiene le Vite dei santi Zämikaʾel Arägawi e Gäbrä Krǝstos, concentrandosi sull'interazione tra testo e immagini nella sezione relativa alla Vita di Zämikaʾel Arägawi. After a short introduction to the Ethiopian hagiographic traditions, the article describes the textual and material features of the finely illuminated manuscript Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS AETH. D. 23, which transmits the Lives of the saints Zämikaʾel Arägawi e Gäbrä Krǝstos, focusing on the interaction between text and images attested in the section about the Life of Zämikaʾel Arägawi.
