Ascetismo e monachesimo nell'opera di Erik Peterson

Abstract

Il contributo si articola in tre parti principali, corrispondenti ad altrettanti momenti biografici di Peterson. La prima parte è relativa al primo lustro di attività scientifica di Peterson (1918-1922), dove Peterson approfondisce la conoscenza dei lavori dei più importanti studiosi tedeschi che si sono occupati di storia dell’ascetismo e del monachesimo. La seconda parte corrisponde invece al decennio 1922-1932 quando, in seguito alle lezioni sul monachesimo, Peterson pubblica tre articoli intitolati sulla trasmisione delle opere di Evagrio Pontico. L’ultimo momento, successivo alla conversione e al trasferimento a Roma, data 1948, quando Peterson tiene una conferenza pubblica sul tema "L’origine dell’ascesi cristiana" al Collegio Urbano De propaganda fide. Sarà l’ultimo titolo della bibliografia petersoniana dedicato all’ascetismo.
