Design and characterization of bidirectional fiber-wireless nodes

Abstract

This project consists on creating a communication infrastructure based on radio frequency with an optical architecture. It is oriented in the 5G feature of mobile telephony. This idea is designed for a signal being processed and sends the information to a central, thus reducing the complexity of the TX and RX antennas. For this, the use of an optical architecture to propagate this signal to the exchange has the advantage that it has a favorable propagation, high bandwidth and few losses. To achieve this architecture, it is necessary to create a bidirectional antenna that contains the photodiode, which will convert the incoming light signal into an RF signal, and the laser, which will transmit the signals to the plant.
