Abstract

L'essenzialità di una linea o la dimensione liminare di uno spazio ristretto. Se pensiamo "confine" queste sono le due diverse immagini. La prima, propria del pensiero astratto, trascende ogni densità materiale; la seconda fa riferimento a una sorta di terra di nessuno, intermedia tra due opposti affacci. Il gesto di aprire confini, quelli propri della realtà naturale e quelli tra le discipline, destabilizza individualità note, ma schiude anche possibilità inattese. Si può rinegoziare il senso di una cruciale polarizzazione: l'interno del vivente e il suo esterno e i confini tra i due. Dalle connessioni tra biologia dello sviluppo e teorie dell'evoluzione, tra ecosistemica, neuroscienze e studi sul mind-body problem, nasce una nuova attenzione sul significato di ciò che oggi si può intendere con "individuo" e con "ambiente": reti di comunicazione tra molecole, analisi del ruolo biologico delle membrane cellulari, simbiosi all'interno di un organismo, connessioni e reciprocità trasformative degli organismi tra loro e con i propri ambienti, tra ecosistemi e biosfera, sono alcuni dei territori di confine qui esplorati. L'intreccio tra questi campi propone una sfaccettata interrogazione del vivente che coinvolge aspetti genetici, epigenetici, comportamentali e simbolici, riflettendosi sui sistemi teorici e filosofici della contemporaneità.
