Abstract

Si la littérature sur les partis politiques s’est majoritairement focalisée sur le niveau national, plusieurs traditions de recherche ont exploré leurs dimensions territoriales et localisées [Detterbeck, 2012 ; Sawicki, 2017]. Les territoires des partis politiques sont divers, incluant le territoire électoral, à l’instar des circonscriptions législatives, le territoire institutionnel, qu’il s’agit d’administrer, ou encore le territoire d’organisation voire de réflexion du parti lui-même. S’ils sont des « entreprises politiques », les partis se distinguent avant tout entre eux par des projets différenciés reposant sur des idéologies distinctes voire antagonistes, et prenant la forme de programmes au moment des élections. Pourtant, dans la perspective d’un accès au pouvoir par les urnes, l’intérêt stratégique des partis n’est pas de se focaliser trop étroitement sur les antagonismes sociaux. Ils ont besoin d’un fort ancrage territorial, et donc généraliste, a fortiori quand les élections sont uninominales. Il s’agit en effet d’obtenir la majorité sur un territoire donné, une circonscription.
