The apparition of digital technologies has changed (partially) the way in which religions exist today; more precisely, these technologies have accompanied and accelerated changes. Religion has not disappeared because of digital technologies, nor has it been totally modified; but religions have changed and are changing (also) because of the digital, in ways that are linked to pre-existing, internal patterns and structures of each religious tradition. This chapter presents some knowledge on this complex relation between religions and digital communication technologies, based on the idea that change and revolutionary aspects must be understood against the background of historical continuity.
