Spela fiol på saxofon

Abstract

I detta arbete har jag undersökt om jag kan utveckla mitt gestaltande av den traditionella spelmansmusiken genom att översätta fiolspel till saxofon. För att undersöka detta har jag arbetat utifrån frågeställningar om frasering/artikulation, ornamentik och genretypisk intonation/mikrotonalitet. Mina metoder för att besvara frågorna har varit detaljerad plankning, inspelning/utvärdering och att spela tillsammans med en violinist. Jag har fördjupat mig i speltekniker som artikulation med tungan och specialgrepp för mikrotoner , samt fått en djupare förståelse för vilka stilgrepp och tekniker som är relevanta för och genomförbara på saxofon.
