The need to identify infants and children at risk is reviewed and reiterated and an experimental screening of kindergarten children at one school is reported. Results of the Denver Development Screening test in several centres are discussed as a possible tool for the busy family physician. Cooperation between family physician, school health service, and school is necessary to ensure successful remediation of the child's problems.
