HEKATE: KÖKENİ, GÖREVLERİ VE ANADOLU TAPINIMLARI

Abstract

Bu çalışma; Eski Yunan Panteonuna sonradan katıldığı yönünde görüşler bulunan kökeni tartışmalı tanrıça Hekate’yi konu almaktadır. Aşağıdaki bilgilerden de anlaşıldığı gibi Hesiodos’un Theogonia (410-450) adlı eserinde tanrıçaya geniş bir bölüm ayrılmıştır. Tanrıça; Apollonios Rhodios, Vergilius (VI. 115, 247), Aristophanes gibi antik yazarlarda büyücülükle ilgili özellikleri nedeniyle yer alır. Pausanias’da (II. 22, 7; II. 30, 2) ise betimleri ile ilgili bilgiler vardır. Ayrıca Pindaros, Sophokles, Herodotos, Euripides, Aristophanes, Horatius, Strabon vb. yazarlar da tanrıçaya değinmektedir. Konu, tanrıçanın kökeni, görevleri, tasvirleri ve Anadolu’daki yansımaları başlıkları altında özetlenecektir.
