Los refranes recopilados por Fernán Caballero (II)

Abstract

El interés que se despierta en el siglo XIX por el folclore queda reflejado en las obras de muchos literatos, como Cecilia Böhl de Faber y Ruiz de Larrea, más conocida por el pseudónimo de Fernán Caballero. Entre sus escritos, sobresalen las novelas de costumbres ricas en elementos populares (dichos, cuentos, chistes, creencias, expresiones, refranes) usados por el pueblo en el siglo XIX, a diferencia de la aristocracia que tiende a emplear neologismos y galicismos. Los refranes mencionados en su obra no proceden de diccionarios ni de refraneros sino de informantes, pues Fernán Caballero, impresionada por la riqueza del folclore andaluz, se dedicó a recoger estas muestras de la sabiduría popular, junto con otros elementos del acervo andaluz, de modo que no solo se la considera escritora sino también folclorista. Este trabajo pretende analizar los refranes laborales y meteorológicos recopilados por Fernán Caballero.
