Constructos personales y sintomatología depresiva: un estudio longitudinal

Abstract

El objetivo de la presente investigación fue la validación de algunas hipótesis derivadas de la teoría de los constructos personales de Kelly (TCP) y, en particular, del modelo de depresión de Neimeyer. De una muestra de 198 universitarios se seleccionaron, mediante el Inventario de Depresión de Beck (BDI), un grupo de 23 mujeres con estado de ánimo deprimido y otro grupo de control de 35 mujeres. Los grupos completaron el RepGrid y la Tarea de Discriminación Interpersonal para evaluar aquellas características cognitivas que distinguen a las personas depresivas de las personas normales: 1) construcción polarizada; 2) construcción del yo como aislado interpersonalmente; 3) construcción sesgada negativamente, y 4) construcción estructuralmente diferente en cuanto a la diferenciación inter o intraconstructos. Los sujetos completaron el BDI en dos ocasiones para examinar, mediante un diseño longitudinal, el papel de tales características en el desarrollo de síntomas depresivos. Los resultados, en general, no confirmaron el modelo de depresión de Neimeyer, aunque apoyaron otras hipótesis elaboradas desde la TCP.
