Abstract

Actually a wide topographical analisys is in progress on the L'Aquila territory, with a particular attention to the area beetwen L'Aquila and Capestrano, along the route of Tratturo Regio. The study has been realised by direct survey; check on site and revision of former data and pertinent documentation (bibliography, archives, in loco, etc.); examination of historical and modern aerial photographs from different Archivies, through the analisys of historical and recent photos; in the end with monitoring flies, from 2003, on some risk areas carried on with Carabinieri Helycopter Group of Pratica di Mare and Nucleo Tutela Patrimonio Culturale of Carabinieri. These kind of flies have allowed to collect unknown data, very important to the knowledge of settlements of the district under exam, for single site, necropolis, viability. Some of them have been pointed out to the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici dell'Abruzzo that realized excavations for defence and valorization.
