Abstract

In this thesis, panel data regression models, which classically known to cause less multicollinearity problem than least squares method, are deeply investigated. The aim of this work is, to make investigation of multicollinearity study and to apply the ridge regression method, which is one of the bias estimation techniques, to panel data structures. In accordance with this aim multivariate linear regression analysis and its theorems, multicollinearity problem and ridge regression method are handled. Panel regression proecesses are given handling panel data regression pooled, fixed and random effect models, their identifying statistics, theorems, and parametric estimations. In the application phase, least squares dummy variable pooled model, fixed effects covariance model and random effects maximum likelihood method are applied to data sets. Then ridge regression technique is applied to least squares dummy variable model and all results are compared.
