Abstract

Nouveau venu dans le vocabulaire des études de style, le concept de gaze connaît une actualité probablement favorisée par l’élargissement du cadre stylistique qu’il propose. Comme la manière, il est issu des études visuelles (cinématographiques plutôt que picturales), mais le regard qui le traduit charrie dans son sillage la vision du monde ou Weltanschauung qui inclut une portée épistémologique, voire politique ou philosophique – tout en favorisant des approches macroscopiques. Ce colloque propose d’ouvrir les questionnements et les méthodes de poétique et de stylistique au prisme du genre (sans oublier qu’il puisse croiser d’autres oppressions). Le gaze, comme le genre (littéraire), convoque un imaginaire du genre, dans un imaginaire genré des styles ; il permet de voir comment le texte fabrique son public des théorisations jusqu’aux réappropriations, construisant des généalogies comme des filiations et des communautés.
