Cinéma et arts plastiques

Abstract

L’histoire de l’art récente voit nombre d’œuvres cinématographiques gagnées par les arts plastiques et réciproquement. Sans doute est-ce en termes de passages et de porosités, de contamination et de résonances, qu’il convient de caractériser cette relation. Pour autant, considérer les arts plastiques et le cinéma au niveau de leur production, c’est aussi se confronter à des méthodes de travail à certains égards opposées : un équivalent de la figure du créateur isolé, retranché dans son atelier, semble difficile à concevoir dans le domaine du cinéma. En outre, en tant qu’art du temps, le cinéma peut apparaître rétif à l’exposition. Les exemples pourtant ne manquent pas d’institutions qui se sont essayées à l’y montrer, inventant pour cela de nouveaux formats d’expositions dans lesquels l’image en mouvement a toute sa place.
