This is a research project with a qualitative approach, whose method is action-research with descriptive scope, which takes advantage of the versatility of gamification for learning English vocabulary. The objective of this research consisted of analyzing the incidence of the implementation of the gamification technique for learning English vocabulary in 4th grade students of the Santa Cecilia campus of the I.E. Moderna de Tuluá. The study was developed with a group of 35 fourth grade students from the Santa Cecilia campus of the I.E Moderna de Tuluá. For its realization, an intervention of 10 didactic sequences with gamified activities was implemented, from which it was found as main results that the students reached an 86% performance against the acquisition of the vocabulary studied; thus, developing the ability to recognize an important set of words in basic phrases, as well as identify useful questions and answers for everyday conversation. In the same way, they managed to develop their ability to memorize more words and relate alphabetic symbols and sounds.
