Abstract

Introduction: An extensive work was carried out, developing a portfolio with three complementary activities, whose objective would be through a review of the literature, to know, analyze, expand, and disseminate knowledge about the insertion of mini screws in strategic and safe areas as an anchoring aid for orthodontic treatments. Thematic development: Three activities were carried out, the first was to elaborate a syllabus, whose theme is Anatomical location for the insertion of extra-alveolar miniscrews to disseminate theoretical and practical knowledge to orthodontists, finally training them to be able to perform the insertion of miniscrews. The second was to make a critical analysis of the literature, with one of the articles of the project and thus know in depth the contribution of that article and also as a basis for an analysis of the other articles. Finally, the third work was to make a viable project related to the previous topics, as a complement and also to deepen the knowledge and contributions in the insertion of the miniscrews. Conclusions: The three works carried out make a comprehensive review of the literature, with complementary topics, giving a great contribution to orthodontic specialists, to know and discern in the insertion of mini screws, being of great help in improving the required anchorages of orthodontic treatments.
