Abstract

La comprensión auditiva y el aprendizaje de nuevas palabras son esenciales para la adquisición de un idioma, por lo tanto, esta tesis tiene como objetivo demostrar que la aplicación de la variable personalización del vocabulario sí puede desarrollar la capacidad de comprensión auditiva. Se hizo un tipo de estudio experimental con un diseño de investigación preexperimental en un total de 22 participantes. Se analizaron las variables de personalización del vocabulario que es un procedimiento en el cual los estudiantes aprenden palabras nuevas de una forma más significativa y la variable de comprensión auditiva que es la capacidad de entender e interpretar lo escuchado. Los resultados luego del post test muestran que la variable personalización del vocabulario sí generó diferencias significativas en el desarrollo de la capacidad de comprensión auditiva en relación al pre-test con un nivel de significancia favorable.

Listening and learning new words are crucial for learning a language. This Thesis aims to demonstrate that the variable personalization of vocabulary can develop the listening skill. An experimental studio along with a preexperimental design were carried out on 22 participants. I analyzed the variable personalization of vocabulary, which is a procedure that make students learn new words in a more meaningful way. I also analyzed the variable listening comprehension that is the ability of understanding and interpreting what has been heard. The results after the post-test show that the variable personalization of vocabulary did make meaningful differences in the development of the listening comprehension in relation to the pre-test and showing a favorable level of significance.
