The Perception of Professional Satisfaction in Religious Officials: The Case of Sivas

Abstract

In this research, religious officials in Sivasevaluated their professions and, if so, contradictions related to theirprofession, in other words their professional satisfaction. In addition, therelationship between occupational satisfaction and variables such as age,gender, education and religious belief level is also investigated here. Thesample group of the study consisted of 267 religious officials working in Sivasand selected by chance. Üzeyir Ok's "theologian scale" was used as ameasurement tool. There was a significant relationship between income level andsome dimensions of professional satisfaction perception using correlationanalysis method.

Bu araştırmadaSivas’ta görev yapan din görevlilerinin mesleklerine dair değerlendirmeleri,varsa meslekleriyle ilgili çelişkileri diğer bir deyişle mesleki memnuniyetleriincelenmiştir. Ayrıca mesleki memnuniyetle yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim ve dini inançdüzeyi gibi değişkenler arasındaki ilişki de burada araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanınörneklem grubunu, Sivas'ta görevyapan ve tesadüfi yöntemle seçilen 267 din görevlisi oluşturmuştur. Ölçme aracı olarak Üzeyir Ok'un“ilahiyatçı ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Korelasyon analiz yönteminin kullanıldığımesleki memnuniyet algısının bazı boyutları ile gelir düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.
