Abstract

The aim of this study is to attempt analyzing the novel which is a kind of literary texts through the lenses of parameters in the sociology of religion. In order to analyze this text, firstly, the role of novel is described then the place of it in the sociological field is tried to be pointed.The work consists of two parts.The process of transition from modern to postmodern literatüre,relation of literature with sociology and religion and then Orhan Pamuk's life, literary parsonality and works are informed in the first part. In the second part, the effects of religion to social structure and relationship of religion with instituions as economics, politics, family, and themes which cover religious institutions, social change, social conflict, the relationship between religion and culture, the phenomenon of religion in modern life ara analysed.Keywords: Religion, Sociology of religion, Literature, Modern Turkish Novel,Society

Bu çalışmanın amacı post modern bir yazar olan Orhan Pamuk‟un eserlerini, Din sosyolojisi parametreleriyle çözümleme girişimidir.Çözümleme için öncelikle toplumsal bir metin olarak romanın fonksiyonu tanımlanmış, ardından din sosyolojisi havzasındaki yeri gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır.Çalışma iki bölümden oluşmuştur. Birinci bölümde modernden ve postmodern edebiyata geçiş süreci, edebiyatın sosyoloji ve din ile ilişkisi ve daha sonra Orhan Pamuk'un hayatı, edebi kişiliği ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Orhan Pamuk'un romanlarında işlediği konularda dinin toplumsal yapıya etkileri, ekonomi, siyaset, aile gibi kurumlarla ilişkisi ve dini kurumlar, sosyal değişim, sosyal çatışma, din ve kültür ilişkisi, modern dünyada dinin görüngüleri kapsamına giren konuları incelenmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Din, Din Sosyolojisi, Edebiyat, Modern Türk Romanı, Toplum
