Abstract

Estetik, sözcük anlamında duyusallığın, duyulur algının sağladığı bilgi üzerine bir kuram, bir bilim olarak düşünülür. Estetiğin bir bilim olarak kurulması ve bu adı alması yakın bir tarihte gerçekleşmiştir. Bu bilimi kuran ve ona adını veren Alman düşünür Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten'dir (1714-62). Baumgarten, 1750-58 arasında yayımladığı Aesthetica adlı yapıyla bu bilimi temellendirmiştir.
