Afghanistan has been called as "The Junction of the Old Cultures" due to its critical geo-strategic and geopolitical position. Therefore, Afghanistan which has hosted dozens of civilizations throughout the history is a country with a high cultural level. In Afghanistan, many divergent ethnic groups such as Pashtuns, Tajiks, Uzbeks, Turkmen, Baluchis, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Nüristani, Aimaq live today. To protect the language of these communities Afghanistan's constitution has been re-amended. The presence of a considerable number of Turkish people in the region has contributes to the development of Turkish. Though Afghanistan Turks cannot express their language and culture by writing, they have preserved them orally and they have managed to keep their oral literature alive. In spite the fact that the foundations of Turkish language in Afghanistan date back to ancient times, the existence of modern Turkish emerges at the end of the 20th century. Thus, in the study, the language policy of Afghanistan and the history of Turkish education there are targeted to uncover.
