Diferències de personalitat per raó de gènere en escalada

Abstract

El present treball de fi de grau realitza un estudi observacional transversal en el que s’esvalua la personalitat de diversos escaladors i escaladores amb l’objectiu de determinar les diferències de personalitat per raó de gènere en escalada. Amb aquest fi, es va emprar un formulari que, a part de recollir dades sobre els esportistes i la seva relació amb l’escalada, incloïa el test de personalitat NEO-FFI (Costa & McCrae, 1999). La mostra de l’estudi va ser formada per 100 escaladors (41 dones i 59 homes) de 18 a 65 anys d’edat (mitja= 34,07 ± 2,26 anys). Els resultats van posar de manifest que no hi ha diferències significatives en la personalitat d’escaladors i escaladores, malgrat que les dones van obtenir puntuacions lleugerament superiors en les facetes de «Neuroticisme», «Extraversió» i «Amabilitat» i els homes en «Obertura» i «Responsabilitat». A més, tot i no obtenir resultats estadísticament significatius, l’enquesta de la primera secció del formulari va evidenciar que més homes que dones reconeixen considerar-se a si mateixos com a persones que corren riscos innecessaris i que, de la mateixa manera, han patit més accidents escalant o realitzant altres esports de risc que les dones. Per últim, els escaladors també exhibeixen valors més elevats de «cerca d’emocions» i «impulsivitat» que les escaladores.
