Architektura modernizmu w Lublinie. Zabytek czy przeżytek?

Abstract

Artykuł porusza dwa aspekty związane z dziedzictwem doby PRL-u: problemy ochrony konserwatorskiej architektury modernistycznej, szczególnie tej powstałej po II wojnie światowej, a także współczesne strategie placówek muzealnych prezentujących sztukę i przedmioty z życia codziennego doby komunizmu. W obliczu rosnącego zainteresowania modernizmem epoki PRL-u w środowiskach historyków architektury, konserwatorów zabytków, a także pasjonatów skupionych w różnych organizacjach pozarządowych, coraz częściej dyskutuje się o stworzeniu skutecznych narzędzi ochrony tej architektury. Jak pokazują przytoczone w tekście przykłady istniejące regulacje prawne często są bezradne wobec twardego prawa rynku. W drugiej części zostały przedstawione strategie i działalność instytucji o charakterze muzealno-wystawienniczym – zarówno państwowe, jak i prywatne – gromadzące dzieła sztuki i artefakty ‘niechcianego dziedzictwa’ okresu komunizmu.
