Today ’s education, being a tool of the consumer culture, leads to emotional immaturity of the man. Sofar, emotions have notfound their place in the pedagogie theory andpractice which in the face of an increasing occurrence of agression, an increase in different types of addictions, neuroses and depressions is an alarming phenomenon. That is why, the article presents emotional possibilities of an educa- ted person, as well as cognitive and extra-cognitive components and functions of emotions. Different types of classification of emotions and educational implications of cognitive and extra-cognitive components of emotions are also thefocus of a di- scussion.
