Abstract

Article in the Spanish magazine 'Revista de Prevención de Incendios' La ingeniería de seguridad contra incendios (SCI) está convirtiéndose cada vez más en un reconocido y establecido ámbito de la ingeniería y en una parte importante en el proceso de diseño de edificios y de infraestructuras. Una parte especialmente importante de la ingeniería de SCI, y en particular del diseño basado en prestaciones, es la modelización. Esta tiene el objetivo ambicioso de predecir numéricamente el desarrollo de incendios y de las variables involucradas en el proceso de combustión, la dinámica de fluidos y el proceso de transferencia de calor. Este artículo presenta las propiedades de los modelos computacionales complejos utilizados en la ingeniería de SCI.
