Abstract

Advertising plays a crucial role in influencing consumer behavior, as it has the potential to shape perceptions, attitudes, and purchasing decisions. With advertising becoming increasingly present in our daily lives, understanding the impact of advertising on consumer behavior has become a vital area of research in marketing and consumer psychology. In this context, the present research aims to analyze the role of emotions in consumer decision-making and how emotions can influence purchase intent towards the brand. To achieve this objective, a quantitative research design of experimental nature was developed with two between-subjects conditions, in which the manipulated variable was the presence or absence of emotional content in the advertising campaign of the brand Saborosa - emotional content campaign vs. campaign without emotional content. Data was collected through a structured online questionnaire, resulting in a valid total sample of 212 individuals, 112 belonged to the scenario of the ad without content. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS software for both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. The results indicate that the ad with emotional content generates a more intense emotional response to the ad, strengthens the emotional connection with the brand, increases brand engagement, and significantly promotes purchase intent. Furthermore, positive and statistically significant relationships between the variables were confirmed, demonstrating that the emotional response to the ad positively influences the emotional connection with the brand, which in turn positively influences brand engagement, leading to a greater purchase intent.
