Skills mismatch towards Industry 4.0

Abstract

Esta dissertação explora o desafio significativo da inadequação de competências e de escolaridade no mercado de trabalho dos dias de hoje. O estudo procura realizar uma análise aprofundada das causas da inadequação de competências e da educação, dos seus impactos nos rendimentos e na satisfação profissional e da prevalência demográfica deste fenómeno no mercado de trabalho. Este estudo utiliza dados do Programa de Avaliação Internacional das Competências dos Adultos (PIAAC), um projeto criado pela Organização para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Económico (OCDE). Além disso, este estudo visa explicar a natureza complexa dos fenómenos de inadequação através da realização de uma análise comparativa com diferentes teorias de sobreeducação, proporcionando uma compreensão abrangente das suas causas e consequências. Através de uma abordagem interdisciplinar, a investigação procura contribuir de forma significativa para a discussão atual sobre os desafios que o mercado de trabalho enfrenta e a procura da igualdade de oportunidades. A fim de abordar a inadequação das competências e da educação e promover resultados mais inclusivos no mercado de trabalho, esta dissertação procura informar medidas políticas baseadas em factos, colmatando a lacuna entre a teoria e as provas empíricas.
