
The actual development model that gives priority to demolition and new construction in detriment to building refurbishing is not compatible with the aims and objectives of Sustainable Development. The sustainable building refurbishing embraces an endless list of parameters that should be taken into account by ali building stakeholders. The individual analysis of these parameters does not allow verifying which solution has the best trade-off between the severa! sustainability parameters. The aim of this papel' is to present a multi-criteria decision based methodology that allows the integrated assessment of all different parameters, At the end, the methodology is applied to a case study, which aim is to select the most sustainable solution between two different refurbishing solutions for a building façade.
