Distribuição regional das empresas multinacionais em Portugal

Abstract

O investimento direto do estrangeiro desempenha um papel cada vez mais importante nas economias, não só nas economias em desenvolvimento como também nas economias desenvolvidas. O IDE permite aos países de acolhimento, um aumento das trocas comerciais, a criação de pólos de competitividade, a transferência de tecnologia, a modernização de empresas locais e a criação de emprego. Esta investigação foi desenvolvida com o intuito de compreender os determinantes de localização regional das empresas estrangeiras. O método utilizado para a obtenção de respostas foi o modelo de regressão binomial negativa, onde todas as empresas contam com pelo menos (51%) dos acionistas de nacionalidade estrangeira. Após a análise do modelo concluímos que os fatores de aglomeração e de qualidade da mão-de-obra são importantes para a distribuição regional das empresas multinacionais em Portugal.
