The present disclosure relates to bacteriophage endolysins, in particular to cell binding domain (CBD) of bacteriophage endolysins, able to bind to Paenibacillus (P.) larvae and as such detect and control this pathogenic organism. P. larvae is responsible for causing American Foulbrood (AFB), which is a highly contagious and lethal disease that affects honeybee larvae.
