A homossexualidade masculina (re)vista pela publicidade lusa e brasileira

Abstract

A presente investigação pretende identificar as representações do homossexual masculino na publicidade portuguesa e brasileira, em revistas dirigidas a homossexuais. O objeto é analisar a forma como estes sujeitos são representados imagética e textualmente através nos anúncios publicitários veiculados nas publicações homoeróticas do Brasil e de Portugal, respectivamente pelas revistas Júnior e Com’Out. Centramos nossa investigação em estereótipos e representações socialmente solidificadas em ambas as culturas, relativos ao homossexual masculino, para então questionar-se até que ponto tais conceitos estão refletidos e são construídos nas e pelas representações difundidas pela mídia impressa voltada ao público gay brasileiro e português. Com base numa análise das imagens metodologicamente enquadrada pela Teoria da Imagem e da Semiótica emergiram traços das representações da homossexualidade masculina lusa e brasileira, particularmente os relativos à exposição dos corpos. Concluiu-se que as representações acerca da homossexualidade advindas destas publicações, embora elaboradas para e por homossexuais, reproduzem certos conceitos arraigados em ambas as sociedades – nomeadamente seus preconceitos, estigmas e estereótipos.
