Abstract

The present master dissertation project was developed at Aptiv – Advanced Safety and User Experience – Portugal S.A in a process whose responsibilities are from the Customer Satisfaction department – the process of Product Audit. The main objective of this project was to simplify and standardize the information collection and analysis procedure in the product audit area, through the development and implementation of a dashboard in order to improve the communication system between employees and departments involved. Firstly, a literature review was carried out to understand the current state of implementing dashboards in an industrial context. Although this tool is quite common within the organization, there is no guarantee that it is being well developed and implemented. The procedure developed by Vilarinho, S., Lopes, I. & Sousa, S. (2017) was adopted, to develop implement a robust dashboard in the process. Gaps and requirements were first defined and then the dashboard was developed and implemented. Finally, the improvements that this tool brought to the product audits process were evaluated and it was possible to observe a significant reduction in the steps to analyse the data and consequently its duration and an increasing in the reliability of the results. The procedure developed by Vilarinho et al. (2017) focused on the development of a procedure aimed at improving performance of productive equipment and processes, based on the creation and implementation of a dashboard. However, this procedure raised doubts about its extension in other contexts. The present dissertation allowed to contribute by evaluating the extension of the scope in the process of product audits. It was therefore found that the procedure was applicable.
