Abstract

As novas preocupações de qualidade de vida urbana obrigam a efectuar uma caracterização dos sistemas, estruturas e modelos de gestão urbana, visto estarem estreitamente ligados à vivência nesses espaços. A cidade, como espaço de vida, deve privilegiar a comunicação urbana e a comunicação humana. É esta a função alicerce que suporta todas as outras actividades. O objectivo deste trabalho é o de caracterizar os sistemas, as estruturas e os modelos de gestão urbana identificados para a cidade de Braga. Para a caracterização de cada uma destas vertentes é proposta uma metodologia de caracterização em função de um conjunto de parâmetros. Esta metodologia poderá ser aplicável a diferentes cidades, com realidades culturais e físicas semelhantes à cidade de Braga.
