A colonização do Sul pelo Norte. A crise financeira na imprensa internacional

Abstract

A crise dá lugar a um imaginário do mal, onde são identificados culpados e aplicados castigos, denominados de sanções. Um estudo dos discursos da imprensa internacional permite identificar um novo tipo de colonização dos países do Sul pelos países do Norte. Nestes discursos, antevemos uma nova ordem simbólica da crise financeira. Uma ordem que dita os modos de dizer, de pensar e de agir para sair da crise. Uma ordem que se alimenta do imaginário prometeico e que pensa dominar o mal, o perigo, o imprevisto, a queda, opondo-lhe antíteses, como o bem, a segurança, a antecipação, o progresso, o crescimento, o pleno emprego. A identificação de monstros, doenças, e a projeção em metáforas da sua encarnação constitui o prelúdio de uma luta contra o mal, um mal que adota um rosto humano: os países do Sul, que viveram para além das suas possibilidades, que consumiram em vez de produzir, que gastaram em vez de poupar e que ficam submetidos ao reembolso desvantajoso de resgates ou planos de ajudas que atuam como forma de punição e de expiação.
