Biotecnologia dos ambientes aéreos e confinados

Abstract

A poluição do ar, quer seja de natureza química, física ou biológica, tornou-se recentemente um aspecto critico nas exigências e reivindicações das populações dado nas consequências negativas que produz sabre a qualidade do meio ambiente e, concomitantemente, sabre a saúde humana. Na realidade, a asma, as renites e as alergias tem vindo, nos ultimas anos, a crescer exponencialmente introduzindo novas problemas de saúde publica aos já bem identificados problemas do tracto respiratório com origem profissional. Assim, neste capitulo são desenvolvidos os aspectos ligados a poluição do ar, com focalização na remoção de efluentes gasosos através de tratamentos biológicos. Abordam-se igualmente os aspectos ligados à presença de agentes biológicos no ar ambiental externo ou em ambiente confinado. De notar que o controlo microbiológico, ou simplesmente de partículas, nos ambientes confinados tornou-se fundamental em indústrias como a farmacêutica ou electrónica, respectivamente.
