Da ‘portugalidade’ à lusofonia

Abstract

A nossa proposta vai no sentido de se saber até que ponto a marca da ‘portugalidade’, profusamente difundida em pleno Estado Novo, sublinhando alegadas características adstritas ao povo português, numa relação apologética ao regime em vigor e que serviu, de resto, de bandeira à Exposição do Mundo Português (1940), ‘afectou’, por via da propaganda e da ideia de ‘império ultramarino’ - que constituiu um dos pilares e dos mitos do regime de Salazar (Rosas, 2001) -, as dinâmicas relacionais com os povos das ex-colónias portuguesas, plasmadas na ideia de lusofonia. É nesse quadro que surge o título do presente projecto: “Da ‘portugalidade’ à lusofonia”. Pretendemos congregar pistas para responder à pergunta “De que falamos, quando falamos de lusofonia?”. Será de uma extensão de uma alegada ‘portugalidade’? Ou de um espaço ligado, apenas (ou eventualmente), através de uma língua comum? Em contexto pós-colonial, que debate sobre o ‘outro’ é possível fazer-se?
