Naturbanización y la búsqueda de valores rurales y calidad de vida urbana

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza los fenómenos de contraurbanizacion y naturbanización en el Parque Nacional de Peneda-Gerês en relación con el crecimiento del área metropolitana de Porto. Explora asimismo herramientas alternativas e innovadoras para el planeamiento del continuo urbano-rural. El aumento poblacional, el desarrollo de las infraestructuras, los cambios en la movilidad y en los estilos de vida, han llevado a la expansión del área metropolitana de Oporto sobre las áreas rurales circundantes. A poco más de una hora de viaje desde Oporto, en el Norte de Portugal, se encuentra el Parque Nacional de Peneda-Gerês. Los factores arriba indicados han dado lugar a fenómenos de naturbanización en la cercanía y el interior del parque. Como consecuencia de ambos fenómenos, se produce una aproximación entre áreas metropolitanas y naturales, generando un conflicto potencial entre la expansión urbana y la conservación de la naturaleza.
