Abstract

Este estudo objetivou levantar e analisar a natureza das relações gestionárias e pedagógicas em duas unidades escolares, situadas no Município de Nova Iguaçu (RJ-Brasil), que desenvolvem experiências distintas de construção de espaços de convivência: escola A - discurso participativo e escola B – discurso tradicional. Para tanto se fez necessário caminhar no sentido de desvelar as relações que ocorrem no cotidiano entre professores, alunos, diretor e professores. Buscou-se fundamentação numa abordagem qualitativa, com metodologia etnográfica das práticas das escolas utilizando questionários, entrevistas, observações apuradas da realidade. Das questões levantadas para estudo, foram constatadas nítidas incoerências entre o discurso de participação e autonomia com a prática administrativa e que não se efetiva com regularidade, permanecendo ainda centrados na figura do diretor. Apesar dos desencontros, houve consenso no que concerne aos benefícios advindos da descentralização administrativa imanada pelo órgão central, assim como a autonomia pedagógica. Através das reflexões apresentadas, constatamos o quanto a comunidade anseia em participar efetivamente nas decisões da escola.
