No presente artigo serão abordadas, numa primeira fase, as raízes e factores socioculturais que estiveram na origem da moda urbana japonesa, bem como a diversidade de estilos que a compõem atualmente. Seguidamente é apresentado o estudo realizado sobre a receptividade e o impacto que esta corrente de moda possui sobre a população ocidental.
