Abuso sexual online: comportamentos de risco, significações e gestão do risco

Abstract

Este estudo, de carácter exploratório, visa compreender os riscos encontrados aquando da navegação na internet pelos mais jovens, especialmente os riscos relacionados com o abuso sexual. Pretende-se caracterizar discursos e práticas, bem como tentar revelar as significações atribuídas e as estratégias de gestão do risco adotadas. Para o efeito, constituiu-se uma amostra de 19 participantes de ambos os sexos, com idades compreendidas entre os 13 e os 16 anos (média de idades 14,8 anos, d.p. 0.98) que utilizavam a internet. Responderam a uma entrevista cujo foco eram os comportamentos de risco relacionados com o abuso sexual que nos permitissem aceder a episódios de risco vivenciados por estes participantes nos seus contactos na internet. Os resultados obtidos revelam que o comportamento de risco predominante consiste em contactar com pessoas desconhecidas online, seguido pelo acesso a conteúdos sexuais. Embora todos os participantes se tenham envolvido pelo menos num comportamento de risco, este não é percepcionado como tal pelos mesmos, pelo que é negligenciado, o que impede a mobilização de estratégias adequadas de gestão do risco envolvido. Novas direções para futuras investigações são apontadas.
