Comunidades virtuais : sistematizando conceitos

Abstract

Nesta comunicação vamos sistematizar alguns conceitos que emergiram no contexto da comunicação e interacção no ciberespaço e que são usadas na literatura de forma indiscriminada como sinónimos ou com significados dispares, por vezes, contraditórios. Começamos, assim, por apresentar o conceito de comunidade virtual, destacando aquilo que são as suas características individualizadoras. Introduzimos depois o conceito de comunidade virtual de aprendizagem, discutindo aquelas que são as suas componentes básicas: a presença cognitiva, a presença social e presença de ensino. Será discutido depois o contexto em que emergiu o conceito de comunidade prática, realçando-se as características básicas que lhe conferem individualidade e especificidade. Terminamos tecendo algumas considerações sobre os atributos que uma comunidade virtual deve ter para promover o desenvolvimento de aprendizagens informais, essenciais no contexto da sociedade do conhecimento em que a aprendizagem contínua é uma consequência natural do momento social e tecnológico.
