[Realisation of a project on combating alcoholism as the element of comprehensive project "Pabianice--A Healthy Town"].

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to show the methods of realisation of the project for combating alcoholism among the inhabitants of Pabianice during 1994-1998. The coordinators of the project "Pabianice--A Healthy Town" took up a series of activities to reduce and eliminate excessive alcohol consumption by the Pabianice community. The project included the following activities: educational courses in schools addressed to parents, pedagogues, pupils; informative-training meetings with the employees of plants in Pabianice; exhibitions devoted to pathology of alcoholism in the Municipal Centre and Museum in Pabianice. In conclusion some recommendations have been presented for continuation of such activities.
