Gerunds express occurrence, form and state. However, the fact that they are not inflected puts them in the noun class. These are actually verbs that are loaded as nouns, adjectives and adverbs by using them as nouns. They can take noun inflection and possessive suffixes, they can be subject, object, adverb and indirect object in the sentence; that is, the name aspects dominate. Gerunds in themselves: I. Ad-verb (infinitive, infinitive), II. Adjective-verb (participium, partip), III. It is divided into three as adverb-verb (gerundium, gerundif). In this study, it is aimed to find the gerunds and to explain the meaning of the functions Old Uyghur story of ''Aç Pars''. Semantics is the science that studies the units in the language in terms of meaning. When the grammar studies are examined, it is seen that only the functions of the suffixes are examined. But the meaning it adds to the word is ignored. For this reason, the meaning of the verb-like suffixes added to the sentence has been tried to be given in the study. The gerunds in the text have been examined under three different headings: noun-verb,adjective-verb and adverb-verb.

Fiilimsiler, oluş, kılış ve durum bildirirler. Ancak çekime girmemiş olmaları onları ad sınıfına dâhil eder. Bunlar aslında ad gibi kullanılarak ad, sıfat ve zarf görevi yüklenmiş olan fiillerdir. Ad çekimi ve iyelik ekleri alır, cümlede özne, nesne, zarf ve dolaylı tümleç olabilirler; yani ad yönleri ağır basar. Fiilimsiler kendi içinde: I. Ad-fiil (infinitive, mastar), II. Sıfat-fiil (participium, partisip), III. Zarf-fiil (gerundium, gerundif) olmak üzere üçe ayrılır. Bu çalışma, Eski Uygurca Aç Pars Hikâyesinde yer alan fiilimsilerin tespitini ve metindeki anlam işlevlerini açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. Anlambilim dildeki birimleri anlam bakımından inceleyen bilim dalıdır. Gramer çalışmalarına bakıldığında eklerin sadece işlevlerinin incelendiği görülmektedir. Fakat kelimeye kattığı anlam göz ardı edilmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmada fiilimsi eklerinin cümleye kattığı anlam da verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Metinde yer alan fiilimsiler isim-fiil, sıfat-fiil ve zarf-fiil olmak üzere üç ayrı başlık altında incelenmeye tabi tutulmuştur.
