Abstract

In this thesis titled as Novelism of Medine Malikova it is aimed to introduce Medine Malikova who is a prominent name of modern Tatar novelism to Turkish literature and to determine her position and importance in the world of literature by examining the structural elements she uses in her novels. In this direction, the literary, social and political atmosphere that was effective in Malikova's upbringing was introduced; information about the artist's life, understanding of art and works are given. It has been seen that the author's understanding of art in terms of novelism is divided into three periods: the process of reaching maturity before 1990, the stagnation between 1990-2000 and the maturity after 2000. In the study, ten novels written by the author were transferred to Turkey Turkish, and the different and common aspects of the methods she used in her novels in terms of structure, and the changes and transformations of the structural elements in her novels over time were tried to be determined. The competent, secondary sources in this field were investigated and novels were examined with the information obtained. It was found out that she used seven different editing techniques in ten novels. It has been seen that the artist, who also includes individual subjects in her novels, focuses on social and political issues. The author, who carries the social and political reflections of the period she lived in to her novels, has drawn the panorama of a period of about forty years with her novels. In terms of narrator and point of view, it has been seen that the author, who preferred the narrative method and the divine narrator in her first novel, focused on the showing technique in her later novels and made the narrator more limited. It has been observed that the author, who prefers the places she has personally experienced as places in her novels, is also a witness of her age in terms of time. It can be said that Medina Malikova is among the talented writers of the last period of Tatar literature with her deep personal creations, her mastery in using language and the modern narrative techniques she includes.
