Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de kamusal alanda yapılan plastik sanat uygulamaları özelinde heykel sanatının kent mekânıyla ilişkisini irdelemektedir. Araştırmanın zeminini ?Kamusal alan? kavramı ve ?Heykel sanatı?nın açık kent mekânıyla kurduğu ilişki, ülkenin içinde bulunduğu siyasi ve sanatsal olguları, fiziksel estetik toplumsal ve ekonomik koşulların içinde kamusal alanda yapılan heykel sanatının kent mekânıyla ilişkisi oluşturur. Kamusal alan kavramı, Türkiye'de XX. yüzyılın son çeyreğinde siyasi alanda ortaya çıksa da daha önceki dönemlere baktığımızda heykel sanatının kamusal açık mekânlarda üç boyutlu bir formla siyasi göstergeye dönüşmüş ve kamusallığı egemen ideolojinin aracı olarak kullandığını söyleyebiliriz. Heykel sanatı, siyasal erkin himayesinde, kamusal açık mekânlarda kendine yer bulmuştur. Genellikle, egemen ideolojinin aracı ve simgesi olarak kamusal alandaki heykel topluma egemen ideolojiyi yaymıştır. Türkiye'de kamuya açık mekânlarda XX. yüzyılın son çeyreğine kadar sergilenen üç boyutlu çalışmalar, daha çok anıt-heykel mantığı çerçevesinde çıkarken modern özgün heykele rastlamak oldukça güçtür.Kamusal alan, toplumsal yaşam ve öznenin varoluş temelinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu anlamda, kamusal kavramının toplumların sosyal, siyasal ve günlük hayatlarını fiziksel ve düşünsel bir platformda meydana getirmesinde ve estetik düzeyini oluşturarak entelektüel bir bilinç ve yaşam kalitesinde belirleyici rol üstlenmektedir. Bu bağlamda kamusal alan ve öznenin ortak bir konsülde birbirine bağlı olarak gelişerek, olgunlaşarak yaşamsal ve özgün bir platform üretebilir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Kamusal Alan, Heykel, Kamusal Alanda Sanat, Türkiye'de Anıt-heykel, Kent Mekânı, Heykel ve Çevre.

This study examines the plastic arts public space in Turkey, in the case sculpture and its relationship with urban space. The basis of this study contains public space and sculpture relations with the open city hall, the country's political stance, artistic phenomenon, physical aesthetic, social and economic conditions in the public domain in the art of sculpture to depict the relationship with urban space. Although, the concept of public space emerged as a subject, mostly in a political sense, in the last quarter of the XX. century, it has turned into a political indicator in three-dimensional form and has shown the publicity of sculpture as means for the dominant ideology. The art of sculpture, under the auspices of political power, found a place in public open spaces and it is seen that it is used as a means and symbol of the dominant ideology to organize the community and spread the ideology in the community. Three-dimensional works, which were used till the last quarter of the XX. century, emerged as monuments within framework and it is hard to find modern and unique sculptures.The public space has an important place on the basis of social life and the existence of the subject. In this sense, the concept of public space plays a critical and decisive role in an intellectual mind and quality life by forming social, political and daily life in a physical and intellectual platform.
