Modos y tiempos verbales en las gramáticas de italiano para hispanohablantes del siglo XVIII

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analizá de manera general el verbo y con mayor detalle los modos y los tiempos verbales en las tres gramáticas conocidas de italiano para hispanohablantes del siglo XVIII: las Reglas acerca de la lengua toscana, o italiana de Esteban de Terreros y Pando publicada en Forlì (1771), la Nueva y completa gramática italiana explicada en español de Pedro Tomasi publicada en Madrid (1779) y la Gramática italiana de Lorenzo Hervás y Panduro, no publicada y de la cual contamos con un manuscrito que se encuentra en la Biblioteca nacional de Madrid (Mss/7831). Trataremos de averiguar, en primer lugar, qué peso presenta el verbo respecto a las restantes categorías gramaticales en las tres gramáticas, tanto desde un punto de vista morfológico como sintáctico; y, en segundo lugar, cómo aparecen propuestos y desarrollados los modos y tiempos verbales. A través de todo ello se tratará de deducir qué tipo de italiano pretendían enseñar: ¿Escrito u oral? ¿Formal, general o coloquial? En último lugar, se estudiarán las huellas que estas tres gramáticas han dejado en las posteriores gramáticas de italiano para hispanohablantes del siglo XIX.
